The three Meydan Weekends happen on July 8–10, August 12–14, and September 9–11, 2022.
The harvest festival kicks off during Meydan #3 (Friday, September 9–Sunday, September 11), taking place in Kassel as well as continuing beyond the exhibition dates in the various localities of lumbung members and lumbung artists. This series will share and discuss artistic harvests of learnings from documenta fifteen and the local ekosistems of lumbung members and lumbung artists.
The Gloria-Kino shows the film and performance program After Cinema conceived by Azin Feizabadi for Meydan #3. lumbung member OFF-Biennale Budapest presents the RomaMoMA Street Festival on Sunday, September 11 from 2 pm to 10 pm in collaboration with Streetbolzer e.V. There will also be the opportunity to purchase products from the lumbung member and lumbung artists ekosistems at the lumbung Kios pop-up market.
Meydan as a word is used in Urdu, Fārsi, Ukrainian, Turkish, and Arabic to refer to a public area used for coming together, a square or a public park. It’s an accessible space for having assemblies to discuss, to dissent, or to celebrate.
The program is developed in collaboration with the Kassel ekosistem and facilitates various forms of social gathering. Meydan #3 is conceived in collaboration with Sandershaus and together with ZukunftsDorf 22.
HARVEST FESTIVAL AND MUSIC AT SANDERSHAUS/ HAFERKAKAOFABRIK
Harvesting artists Victoria Lomasko, Abdul Dube, Putra Hidayatullah, Sebastián Díaz Morales with Simon Danang Anggoro, Arts Collaboratory, and Cem A., as well as lumbung working groups exhibit their harvests, that have been created so far in preparation for and during documenta fifteen, tell stories, and organize workshops to reflect on the learnings with the public.
Radio Alhara invites other radio collectives such as Cashmere Radio, Radio Raheem, and Radio Nopal for an evening program of conversations, live performances, and DJ sets.

The film program includes six fictional, documentary, poetic, essayistic, and experimental short films from the lumbung Film archive. Following the screening (the program will be repeated Friday through Sunday), varying performances will be presented.

Biographies
Ace Demons (Cashmere Radio)
Always killing, never chilling, the dancefloor gives her comfort, because it’s where she finds her own rhythm: A drum heavy, ravey queer, genrebending sound led by rapid rhythms, full of vivid mash-ups, tempo changes, and unusual combinations of sounds, while her slapping beats win every mortal combat.
Anadolu Ekspres is a Rotterdam-based event series, platform, and DJ alias celebrating the legacy of Turkish psychedelic and pop music through club nights, cultural events, and online. Started in 2015 as a club and concert series, Anadolu Ekspres has taken different shapes over time: a DJ collective, catering service, mixtape series, design studio, cassette tape collecting practice, lecture series, and cocktail bar. For Meydan #3, Cengiz Mengüç will represent Anadolu Ekspres with an eclectic DJ set exploring the fringes of contemporary and past-time psychedelic and pop music from Turkey and its diaspora.
Cashmere Radio is a community experimental radio station based in Berlin’s Wedding neighborhood. It broadcasts underground music, talk shows, and live performance art.
dirar kalash is a musician and sound artist whose work spans a wide range of musical and sonic practices within a variety of instrumental, compositional, and improvisational contexts. kalash also extends his practice into inter-disciplinary theoretical research. He has produced several albums, sound installations, live audio-visual performances, and photography projects.
DJ Mr. Brown
Mr. Brown is a legend in Germany when it comes to black music. He learned his craft in American clubs in the 60s. Since then he has performed at major festivals as well as in clubs and discos. In Kassel, his name is inextricably linked to the legendary Last Penny, which he established as one of the most renowned meeting places for fans of crisp funk and soul music in Germany.
Eigenklang is an audio-visual performance collective, setting up their spaceship to explore the unlimited possibilities of improvised and interactive live production. Eigenklang was founded in 2017 with the eponymous installation and with the goal to organize interactive happenings which allow visitors to not only consume art but participate in it. The artists work with visual installations, inclusive, art and media-based education and professional (360°) audio and video production. Interaction and improvisation are at the core of their artistic practice.
Fabrizio Vatieri (Radio Raheem) lives and works in Milan. Trained as an architect, his artistic practice spans performance, music, and photography. He is also the co-founder and art-director of Palinurobar, a wine and listening bar in Milan.
L Twills (Cashmere Radio)
Under her stage name L Twills, the musician, performer and multimedia artist Lila-Zoé Krauß combines electronic sounds, computer music, noise, and avant-garde with expressive vocals. Her albums confront subjects related to violence, capitalism, queerness, and emancipation. Her debut [Freedom/Fiction] was released in 2020 and she is currently working on her sophomore album [After her Destruction].
lumbung Radio is an online community radio project that is part of documenta fifteen. It began as a working group, started broadcasting slowly in April and is now streaming 24/7 during the 100 days of documenta fifteen—and hopefully also afterwards, from and to the whole planet.
owais (Radio AlHara)
Ibrahim Owais is a multi-disciplinary artist, digital designer, creative producer, and DJ He created Recordat and is one of the main people behind Radio AlHara. His work revolves around designing, developing and creating cross-media experiences for both digital and physical spaces.
Philodur are a Band from Kassel. Their music engages the social challenges of our time: exclusion, racism, neoliberal politics and social injustice. In good songwriter tradition, Philodur (Lars Freiheit, André Spandehra, and Kai Nakath) incorporate mythical creatures and pop-cultural references in their narration and merge blues, folk, songwriter music and alternative rock.
Radio AlHara started in Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Amman. Launched during lockdown, it promotes the idea of a public space. The radio hosts musical sets, conversations, recordings, and discussions with the aim to blur the boundaries between producers and listeners.
Radio Nopal is a collective internet radio station located in Mexico City, broadcasting live from the San Rafael neighborhood. The station is a meeting place that generates links of collaboration and encourages the creation of communities through the free exchange of a multiplicity of contents.
Radio Raheem was born in Milan in 2017 as an independent publisher and media. The web radio constantly discovers the most interesting national and international music scenes, and pushes the spectrum of investigation towards all aspects of content and culture.
Ruang Kosmik is a monthly performance space initiated by lumbung member Jatiwangi Art Factory to bring together musicians and artists to share experiences
Sara Persico is a sound artist, composer, and performer based in Berlin. Her practice explores modes of storytelling across the expressive possibilities of the human voice and electronic sound. She playfully transforms the identity of things and changes the nature of noises in order to create elaborate interior landscapes.
VJ Enki is a Visual Artist and VJ based in Colombia with a current focus is the conception of unrealistic visions and experiences and the merge between music and Visuals in real time.
