lumbung Sitcom is an initiative by the ruruHaus community, lumbung artists, Hegelsbergschule Kassel, the documenta fifteen media partner Medienprojektzentrum Offener Kanal Kassel, Kulturamt Stadt Kassel and the Kassel City Library.

Over the course of a week, forty-five students between the ages of fourteen and eighteen produced a pilot for a sitcom about three teenagers discovering the lumbung process. The students built the sets, wrote the script, and shot the pilot all by themselves, under the guidance of Offener Kanal and Head of Production David Zabel. The workshops where further supported by Kassel ekosistem members like Sebastian Hohmann and Charlotte Ella Bouchon from kmmn_practice, local filmmaker Ralf Kemper and actor Christoph Steinau.

The finished pilot will air soon at Offener Kanal’s TV channel and will remain available in their media library. A cinema premiere is planned for September 2022.
