Cooperation with KVV

Since November 2021 documenta fifteen and local transportation and utilities provider Kasseler Verkehrs- und Versorgungs-GmbH (KVV) have been in collaboration. The cooperation comprises numerous projects to be realized in the fields of mobility, digitalization and sustainability.

Featuring some 30 exhibition venues, documenta fifteen will extend across the entire city of Kassel. For the first time in the history of documenta, all tickets – with the exception of season tickets – will therefore also double for travel on public transport in the KasselPlus tariff area. Holders of season tickets from both partners (KVV and documenta fifteen) will enjoy reciprocal discounts. This will allow visitors to documenta fifteen and employees of documenta and Museum Fridericianum gGmbH to move around the city in a straightforward and sustainable manner. A jointly designed streetcar created as part of the cooperation has been in use in Kassel since December 2021.

Alongside the mobility offerings, energy supply and Internet connectivity are further important cornerstones of the cooperation. All documenta fifteen locations will – as far as legally and technically possible – be powered by regionally generated green electricity from Städtische Werke and equipped with broadband by Städtische Werke Netz + Service.
