What to do with facts and figures? A Comic Workers’ Inquiry by Nino Bulling
Comic artists work between different areas and genres: art and literature, high and low brow, commission and scholarship. Currently in its founding phase, the Comic Gewerkschaft (Comic Trade Union) stands for solidarity, self-organization, and an anti-racist, feminist position.
Since comic artist is not officially a trade, we do not even know how many we are and what we need. With the support of scholars Katharina Serles, Romain Becker and Jana Rutar, we have therefore developed a study that inquires into this. For this event, they talk about radical charts. In addition, we present our manifesto.
Together, as a trade union, we want our voice to be heard, be loud and show solidarity, strengthen bonds and contacts, and work towards improvements together.
What to do with facts and figures? A Comic Workers’ Inquiry is organized by lumbung artist Nino Bulling.
