The Legacy Heritage by lumbung artist *foundationClass*collective is a performance using hand-drawn murals representing colonial signs and Marshallese symbols.
The performance contains dramatic movements that tell stories through traditional Marshallese dances such as biit or jurbak. Alcohol bottles hang on a metal stand and rattle throughout the performance, interacting with various dramatic dance moves signifying colonial impact and the turbulent journey of the Marshallese people and their culture. The glass bottles remind us that alcohol was one of the first things German colonists brought to the islands.
