Terracotta Embassy Activation – Art in Action Research by Jatiwangi art Factory
The Swiss Terracotta Embassy focuses on art and society education with an emphasis on action and research. Art in Action is an alternative approach to conducting research on and working with art in socio-cultural settings. The AiAR paradigm calls for art practitioners to place their research issue center stage, configure a related web of particularities within a local-global continuum, remove assumptions about art from the research base, and take the glocal rooting of art into consideration.
The workshop Terracotta Embassy Activation – Art in Action Research by lumbung member Jatiwangi art Factory gives an action-oriented, step-by-step how-to introduction to the research paradigm and provides orientation points helpful in eliciting setting-specific notions of art.
