We have never been modern: Asnimer by LE 18

We have never been modern invites Amazigh musicians to challenge the Eurocentric bifurcation between art and folklore. This performance by the ancestral poetry troupe Asnimer presents peasant women’s songs from Morocco’s Atlas Mountains—from work songs to laments.

This event is part of a series hosted by AWAL, an oral art and research project, which has been invited to documenta fifteen by lumbung artist LE 18.
