This event is part of the Arts Educators in Residence program of CAMP notes on education.
Together is a participatory workshop by the artist Ange Arthur Koua that invites us to collectively build a great patchwork from varied experienced—our stories materialized by our clothes. For Koua, clothes can be understood as a second skin, a protection from our surroundings and, at the same time, an indicator of personality; the accessory that we choose to accompany us everywhere according to the nature of our activities. Putting someone‘s clothes on display is showing that person in some way.
During the workshop, participants create a patchwork from textiles they brought or that were collected at ruruHaus before. The patchwork will be assembled step by step until it finds its final form, which is Together. Then, just as artists present their work by stepping out of their studio to show their work to the community, the collective work will be presented in the courtyard of the venue Hafenstraße 76.
