The power of the word: Citizen discursive autonomy since the 80s in Cuba

Location: documenta Halle

A system dominated by the political police does not allow for autonomy. The power of the word: Citizen discursive autonomy since the 80s in Cuba by lumbung member Instituto de Artivismo Hannah Arendt (INSTAR) vindicates silenced artists and their independent practices with an autonomous discourse on plurality, the demand for human rights, and society projects that reclaim a “normality” snatched by a government which, from its speech to its practice, tries to frame, militarize, and dominate society as a single army.
