Performance: Precious drops by Saodat Ismailova

For the performance Precious Drops, Intizor Otaniyozova, invited by lumbung artist Saodat Ismailova, will sing an Uyghur song while pouring drops of tea from 40 cups into one, and then drink them. Girls are taught how to serve tea from a young age in order to prepare them to be someone’s wife. But the artist wonders if people will even drink tea in the future because of the water crisis in the Central Asian region. In her performance Intizor reflects on how our past and present actions affect our future.
