Okutambula Kulaba: A Walk, A Talk, and an Act by lumbung artist Another Roadmap Africa Cluster is a workshop and walking class inspired by the Ugandan saying “okutambula kulaba” (to walk is to see, to move is to encounter; we learn as we move).

A 30-minute walk from Fridskul includes readings and music. Participants are invited to bring a short text, song, or poem which they want to read and reflect upon.

The walk is followed by a 20-minute call and response: What have you seen? What have you not seen? What did you want to see? How does your experience of seeing, or not seeing and expecting to see inspire your creative imagination?

The event closes with a 40-minute practical session based on the outcome of the walk and the talk. Participants can make posters, zines, or postcards.

Age: Preferably 15–25, but anyone interested can join
