Neither Red nor Green: Blue by Instituto de Artivismo Hannah Arendt

lumbung member Instituto de Artivismo Hannah Arendt (INSTAR) presents a screening of Neither Red nor Green: Blue (2012; 35 min.), a documentary film by directors Sandra Cordero and Hanny Marín about the Rotilla Festival in Cuba. The Rotilla Festival was organized for ten years by MatraKa, an independent group of young Cuban promoters and artists. The festival offered a space for hundreds of musicians who had little to no visibility in the Cuban media, with a stress on electronic music and political rap. In the year 2011 Cuban government officials snatched the festival away from its legitimate organizers by order of the State’s security agency.
