Meditation Space by Saodat Ismailova

From time immemorial, the Kazakh instrument Qobyz has contributed to healing and meditation in nomadic cultures. Shamans enter into a trance by making sounds on a sacred instrument, and treat people’s ailments. The sound of the Qobyz has a unique deep timbre and is similar to a human voice. The sound of the sacred instrument can influence the human state of mind and body. lumbung artist Saodat Ismailova invites visitors to a group meditation. Her Meditation Space is a circular area where the performer will sit in the middle of the space and play kuis, traditional Kazakh pieces, on a Qobyz. Visitors can lie down on korpeshe (mattresses), close their eyes, and relax.
