Letter Writing: The World In Afrobetikal Order by Another Roadmap Africa Cluster (ARAC)

A writing exercise and pictographic workshop by lumbung artists Another Roadmap Africa Cluster exploring methods for ordering the world through revisiting the historical Afrikan alphabets, enriching today’s collective visual vocabulary in the process.

How do we go from pictures to letters and back again? What is lost and what is found? How can we make known what we cannot say? How does it look, feel, and dream like to write letters to the past, present, and future? And, can we write letters to the Moon, Venus, Jupiter?

This experiment creates a reflective space against the undercurrents of cultural heritage, politics of identity, toward a new planetary consciousness.
