Theatricality and performativity are of interest as strategies to think about the representations of power and the acts of civil society in contexts such as the Cuban one, bounded by repressive control and social uprisings. From the notion of totalitarian theatricalities Iliana Dieguez, invited by lumbung member Instituto de Artivismo Hannah Arendt (INSTAR), reflects on representational strategies interested in producing a punitive performativity capable of subduing through terror, which is also a mode of necropolitics.
