Presentation of the German-Indonesian-Society
Languages: German
In connection with the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Germany and Indonesia as well as the existing contacts with ruangrupa, the DIG would like to present itself to the public in Kassel at ruruHaus.
Since 1950 the Deutsch-Indonesische Gesellschaft e.V. Köln (DIG) builds bridges between Indonesia and Germany. They see themselves as an open forum for encounter and exchange, where cultural aspects are the focus. Current topics from politics and economics as well as social questions occupy them likewise. At their readings, performances, lectures or at the annual Indonesia Day with its diverse program and Indonesian market, interested people and cultural workers from Germany and Indonesia meet. Another platform is the magazine kita, which has been published regularly since 1991. Here the association dedicates itself with different contribution formats in each case to a main topic to Indonesia. With its activities, the association actively promotes encounters and dialog between Indonesia and Germany and is committed to mutual appreciation, understanding and openness.
