Event
Cooking conflicts – A collective performance dinner by Britto Arts Trust
Location: documenta Halle Pakghor – The Social Kitchen by Britto Arts Trust, Gustav-Mahler-Treppe
Languages: English, German
The performance dinner Cooking Conflicts was forged in a tiny kitchen in Weimar, Germany as initiators Margarita Certeza Garcia (artist/activist, born in Chicago) and Tobias Kühn (sculptor/chef born in Saxony) juggled hot pots, sharp knives, and sharper politics, while the Other Music Academy was repurposed by activists, immigrants, and communities into a temporary home for all refugees from global conflicts, in the winter of 2021.
At this time of climate, social and planetary upheaval we would like to acknowledge our entangled histories and reflect on the ways they both: bring us together/tear us apart, in a performance dinner featuring: international food, drinks, performance, and politics.
The food will be vegetarian with vegan options and like our collective, kosher, hallal, and other dietary needs aware.
