Foam History Workshop

The Foam History workshop by BAUcollaboratory examines the afterlife of newspaper articles, economic reports and correspondence during the crisis and boom of the shoe industry in in Pirmasens, Germany. A selection from the city‘s archives will be examined for transformations, terms and repetitions, with the tool of collage. In the background operates an interactive sound tool, which takes participants‘ spoken word and replays it with delay. A communication loop is generated about economic processes. With the collaborative authorship of the participants, another story is formed than the one already written down in history books.

BAUcollaboratory is a union of five artists who work in a multimedia way with time and space. The diverse artistic practices are linked together in workshop formats, in order to form a multi- perspective past, present and future.
